If you follow along on Instagram, you might have seen Angela and I recently took a trip to Nashville for Labor Day weekend. We did lots of sight seeing, ate some great food, and had some good drinks. The highlight of the trip was a tour of the Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery (view the website here).
The story and history of this place is amazing. Our tour guide gave us a well in depth history of the original Charles Nelson and the story of his life, his family, and his time as the owner of the distillery in the late 1800s. I will spare you of the details on the blog (you can read the story here), but tell you that if you are ever in Nashville, I highly recommend stopping by for a tour and tasting!
After the tour of the small distillery and barrel house, we were able to sample 4 different whiskeys, all of which I enjoyed (maybe a little too much). The first was the in-house produced 108 (my favorite), the Belle Meade Bourbon, the Belle Meade Sherry Cask Finished Bourbon, and the Single Barrel Select.
As I said previously, this was by far my favorite part of the trip. I left with more bourbon than I needed and other knick-knacks for the bar cart. Thanks to the wonderful team at Nelson’s Green Brier for having us! Also, thanks to the City of Nashville for being such a great host, I hope to get back soon.
