As many of you know the Texas summers can be pretty unbearable. Fortunately for us Texans, this summer has been fairly mild with quite a bit of rain. That means that the humidity has been very high and sweat takes over anything it can. Over the past few years, I have grown to have an admiration for linen. This fabric, made from the fibers of the flax plant, is laborious to manufacture, but the fiber is very absorbent and is a top choice for exceptional coolness and freshness in hot weather. This fabric single handily can make my day better by keeping me cooler in the Texas heat.
Recently, I have been reaching more and more for this linen and wool blend blazer from Southern Proper (see my original post here) and this Irish linen sport shirt from Brooks Brothers (similar and similar) that I got on sale a few years back. Top the look off with a linen pocket square and you can definitely beat the heat. Oh, and going sans-socks also helps.
